So. With my progression into the craft and gaining more and more tools in the workshop (My wife calls it "obsession"), space is getting scarce. So much so that I'm having to navigate a small corridor of garden spades, toy tractors and pink bikes as if tiptoeing through a minefield every time I want to work on a leather project in the workshop.
With future expansion in mind, and shins that are tired of being dented at every miss step through the shop it's been decided a 2nd shed is on the cards.
Somewhere to store the garden tools, kids toys and children if they misbehave....("I'm joking, Honest!!").
I decided upon this little 6 by 8 foot shiplap single doored shed. It's of modest construction with 2 by 1 inch main beams but it'll survive a few winters I'm sure.....
On the thursday the foundation went in, 4 hours of hard graft, saw knees and an exploded wheelbarrow tyre later and hey presto, the foundation was in....
After the cement was left to cure, then came the shed.
The shed panels were well built, sturdy, and straight, (Which is normally a rarity considering the price) and with all the panelling set up for a simple screw in construction process, the shed went up in no time at all. From start to finish, 3 hours saw this build go from bare base to door locked. Ofcourse, there was the obligatory british rain shower right at the point I was nailing the felt on, just to make sure I was fully hydrated..... but none the less....
Another, great success!
