Leather & Paracord Dog Lead

This dog lead is handmade in my Norfolk workshop. The lead itself is 10mm paracord, which is strong, light and doesn't mind getting muddy. The handle is full grain vegetable tanned leather, because that's the bit your hand is holding every walk and it should feel good.

Every lead is put together and finished by hand by me. There are no production lines or machines - just careful work with materials that are made to last.

Why Paracord and Leather?

Paracord is tough, flexible and easy to clean after a wet walk. Full grain leather is the strongest part of the hide and gets softer the more you use it, so the handle ends up shaped to your grip. Over time the leather darkens and picks up a patina that's unique to your walks.

Handmade from Start to Finish

I cut and finish the leather handle, fit the hardware and put every lead together myself. Because the handle is made from a natural hide, each one will look slightly different.

Looking After Your Lead

If the paracord gets muddy, rinse it in warm water and let it dry naturally. Try to keep the leather handle out of prolonged soaking. If it starts to look dry after a lot of use, a small amount of leather conditioner will keep it supple.

Please Note

Full grain leather is a natural material, so every handle will have its own grain pattern, markings and slight colour variations. These are not imperfections - they're part of the character of the leather and a reminder that your handle has been made from a real hide rather than a synthetic material.
