The Aegis is a handmade sunglasses case crafted in my Norfolk workshop from genuine Badalassi Carlo Wax leather. Designed to protect your glasses without adding unnecessary bulk, it's built for everyday use and made from one of Italy's finest vegetable-tanned leathers.

Badalassi Carlo Wax is known for its rich pull-up effect and the way it changes with use. The leather gradually softens, deepens in colour and develops a beautiful patina, giving every case its own unique character over time.

Whether it's kept in your bag, on your desk or carried every day, the Aegis is designed to protect your eyewear while ageing beautifully alongside it.

Why Badalassi Carlo Wax?

Badalassi Carlo Wax is produced by the Badalassi Carlo tannery in Tuscany using traditional vegetable tanning methods. It has a rich wax finish that creates a beautiful pull-up effect, where the colour lightens slightly as the leather bends before gradually settling back with use.

Over time the leather becomes smoother, gains depth of colour and develops a patina that's unique to the way you use it. Small marks blend naturally into the surface, giving the case even more character rather than making it look worn.

Handmade from Start to Finish

Every Aegis case is made by hand in my Norfolk workshop. I cut each piece of leather, stitch it by hand, burnish the edges and finish every case individually before it's ready to leave the workshop.

Working with natural leather means no two cases are ever exactly the same. Each one has its own grain, markings and character, making every piece unique.

Looking After Your Case

To keep your case looking its best, avoid prolonged exposure to water and wipe it clean with a soft, dry cloth when needed. If the leather begins to look dry after years of use, applying a small amount of quality leather conditioner will help keep it supple.

A Thoughtful Handmade Gift

Whether you're buying it for yourself or someone else, the Aegis is designed to be used every day for years to come. Handmade from exceptional Italian leather and stitched by hand, it's a practical accessory that only becomes better with age.

Please Note

Full grain leather is a natural material, so every sunglasses case will have its own grain pattern, markings and slight colour variations. These are not imperfections but part of the character of the leather, making every case completely unique.
